A legend is gone....

Carl Walinski was the 4ft 2in living Trade Mark of the Buckeye Brewery co. Toledo, Ohio. He traveled around the area promoting the company products.

Carl "Bucky" Walinski, 91, of Oregon, OH, passed away on Sunday, February 3, 2002. Carl "Bucky" was known through out the Toledo area as "The Little Man" and to some as "Duckie" mascot for the Toledo Mud Hens. Bucky was also known to many as Toledo's only 51" bartender. Roller skating through the city's streets, holding aloft a tray and a bottle of Toledo made brew, the Buckeye Kid of 40 years ago was a local legend. He was notice in a local bar by a Buckeye Brewery representative and offered him a position as the company's symbol, and the rest is history. As a promotional gimmick for Bock beer, a billy goat was added to the act and "Bucky and Billy" appeared in parades throughout the tri-state area.

A true legend for Buckeye Brewery is gone.
